Infused Waters

Infusing fruit/herbs in water is something I've been wanting to try. The weather has been completely dreadful here (my car thermometer said it was 109° F outside today, at just 11am! Relentless heat.), so ay means of cooling down and feeling refreshed are much appreciated. These look and sound so refreshing, and they have very little sugar and lots of yummy flavor. Plus, they're non-alcoholic! Here are a few recipes I've been wanting to try:

Spa Water

Ingredients

  • 6 cups chilled still spring or mineral water
  • 12 thin slices cucumber
  • 4 thin slices lemon
  • 4 sprigs (each 2 in. long) fresh mint, slightly crushed
  • 2 sprigs (each 2 in. long) fresh rosemary, slightly crushed

Preparation

  • In a 2- to 2 1/2-quart pitcher, combine water, cucumber, lemon, mint, and rosemary. Serve, or cover and chill at least 2 hours or up to 8 hours. Add ice cubes just before serving.
Basically, the rest are prepared the same way. There's also:

  • orange and mint
  • peach and sage
  • plain old mint (mmm)
  • cucumber and basil (which I would try today if I hadn't devoured all of the cucumber!
  • strawberry and basil
  • mint and rosemary
Happy sipping!
