That's the funny thing about birthdays...

Mine is coming up, the 26th of this month. I'll be turning the big 2-0, which is so surreal to me, and I know 20 isn't that big a deal compared to 21, but still, I am going to be twenty! No longer a teenager!

Naturally, I am celebrating the 20th anniversary of my birth in the most mature way possible: Rapunzel style!

Since Tangled came out, I have heard countless (I've literally lost count) times, "You look/act just like Rapunzel! It's like she was modeled after you!" My parents told me, "You know, Jess, Disney has to pay you for using your likeness."

When I saw Tangled, I finally felt like I had found "my" princess. While I shared a few traits with some of the other Disney ladies, Rapunzel charged in and was spot-on relatable for me: not just looks-wise, but down to the mannerisms, personality and interests. We even both have summer birthdays! Besides that, Tangled was just a magical movie.

That's why I'm embracing that, with these few simple things!

First off, I'm going to do my Tangled nails!

I know the quality is crap! Sorry! I'll have better ones next time :3
Kelly-Anne (aka TinyTangerines) got me really into nail art, despite my impatience with nail polish. I did these a few months ago (I think it was actually around Christmas, but I can't be sure) and got so many compliments. Light purple with pink vine designs on the index finger and pinky, dark purple with pink/purple glitter on the middle finger and thumb, and dark "night sky" purple with a blue overcoat with  a diagonal of gold and silver glitter to resemble the lanterns in the night sky. I felt so good when I finished them; they're such a nice little boost!

Second, I'm going to try making some hazelnut soup! In the movie, it's mentioned that this is Rapunzel's "favorite," and since I love hazelnut flavor I decided I had to try it. Disney.com released a recipe for hazelnut squash soup, so I am toooo excited to try it out! Recipe here.

Third and dorkiest of all, The Disney Store released a Rapunzel crown finally.

I am STOKED! Usually Disney Store princess crowns actually have the princess's face on them, which makes me feel even more like a kid, but this? This is legit, for lack of a better word! My dad told me to send him the link when I told him that's what I want for my birthday :D I am an adult, I swear.

You can find it here. I'm a little nervous because it's currently sold out but WHATEVER DUDE!

The thing is, no matter what age I am, I will always be a silly, Disney-loving geek. :)
