I made myself a list (me and my lists-- but you gotta love 'em!) of things to do to help cheer myself up after this dry spell.
- Rethink the look/feel of this blog. I'm excited about this. I've never been one for gimmicks, and I feel like the url and blog title are gimmicky. I just want something that's less trying-too-hard and more, I dunno... me. I guess I don't know myself as well as I like to think I do, otherwise it probably wouldn't be as hard to figure out a new one. As for the look, well, that'll just be fun to mess with! Just did this, and I'm quite happy with it!
- Read more stuff! I have been reading almost constantly a good amount of the time and I'm just loving it. Just started A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin and am finishing up another reread of A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. I'm also loving my Kindle. I should do a post about him sometime. Yes, he's a boy, and his name is Bilbo, since the first book I read all the way through on it was The Hobbit (and I absolutely LOVE Bilbo Baggins!).
- Write. Anything, even if it is stupid. I just need to write again. I miss creating.
Find more music to listen to.Switch to lighter bedding in my room.I am all for pretty dark hues, but light colors never fail to cheer me up.- Keeping with the room thing: finish tidying, get rid of more stuff, find new ways to decorate in here.
- Go out more often. This will be easier when Bianca the Jeep is fixed (she broke down last Wednesday, sadly, but luckily it should be a somewhat small fix. Just a little electrical issue), but when my car was working I barely socialized. The sweetheart is nearer now, which will help a lot, but I still want to see people on my own. My boyfriend is not a crutch. I don't need a crutch!
- Yoga. I need to get back on that. Things got crazy during finals.
- Netflix! There are so many fun things I haven't seen, namely a mess of classic films. Just watched Mr. Peabody and the Mermaid last night. So cute. It made me so happy.
- Go on adventures, and document them with photos. "Pics or it didn't happen" will be my mantra this summer. I already have a few day trips in mind, but ordinary days deserve to feel special too. Things always seem more magical when captured with a camera! :)
- Find my camera cord. That might help.
- Find my shorts! They have all disappeared! Makes getting dressed really hard on windy but sweltering days, because I can't wear dresses and pants overheat me!
- Swim. Even if I drive Wesley insane, since he's the only person I know with a pool. My goal is to have run into the ocean by the end of the month, too.
- Buy myself flowers, because I am 100% sure no one else will.
I'm sure I'll figure out more things to get rid of these blues, but I think these are a nice start!
