California Lady

Life has been absolutely crazy lately. I went from sending out my resume to driving to Santa Monica with Matt to interviewing to having a full-time job! I have to commute 3 hours total every day, but I work with lovely people. I'm a filing clerk and I also take care of any and all errands, including, but not limited to:
  • picking up lunches
  • picking up Starbucks
  • bank runs
  • going to production companies to pick up/drop off things
Because of all of this, I have not been able to work much on the apartment or on much of anything in my life, which sort of sucks, but hey, money! I get to have the weekends to go out and do more things than I would be able to normally. Now if only I weren't so tired all the time...

I have also literally turned The Californians skit. "STUART! At this time of day it's gonna be jammed! Are you CREHZEH?" Ah, the life of a commuter. I kind of hate it, but that's the only real downside to my job, and it's better money than I could make elsewhere!

It's been really interesting living somewhere else for the first time in my life as well as commuting and working a full-time job, and I've been having some trouble adjusting. I wasn't feeling well yesterday and woke up this morning even worse, so I decided to stay home, and after a big nap and some general self-TLC, I got so much done in the apartment! It's clean, all of my clothes are in the closet, my bathroom is a little more decorated (because who wants a boring bathroom?), (plus listen to the presidential debate) and I'm happy as a clam. I just cannot wait to get the couch and armchair in, then it will really feel like a home! I feel so much more relaxed, though, just having it tidy.

I have so many things I want to do and see lately. I haven't even had time to explore my new city! I'm desperate to go thrifting and antiquing, not to mention just regular forever21-ing, so I'm just waiting on that next paycheck, I'm giving myself half of it as just mad money because I have literally spent no money on myself in months (except for food and the nail polish colors I bought to celebrate my first paycheck). I'm moving into iPhoneland soon, too, so I'm saving for that, plus a few other surprises up my sleeve ;)

I hope you are all having a wonderful time lately, I hope to post more soon! Definitely going to take some pictures of my closet because it looks so pretty with all of my favorite things in there (although not all of my clothes are in yet!). I've been hugely inspired by artist Susan Branch: her life, her home, her cooking, her blog, her travels... I just want to be her when I grow up! She's the cutest and would probably make the coolest friend ever. Plus, her artwork is absolutely wonderful! That's half of my inspiration right there!

Isn't it beautiful? Via SusanBranch.com

Have a great week!
